We are very excited to open enrollment for Gan Israel Preschool, Fall 2021.

We are working hard to make sure that we can continue to offer the best in quality Jewish preschool education while providing safe care for our Gan Israel children, staff and families.

Thank G‑d, we have successfully and safely remained open during this pandemic, following many new safety and health  protocols to adjust to current circumstances.

For Fall 2021:

As of now, in order to follow CDC and VA  State guidelines, we will continue to offer full-day or part-day self contained classes (cohorts/ pods).  If the CDC or VA State guidelines change, we will update our classes accordingly.

Covid Safety Protocols:

** based on CDC guidelines include:

  • Daily health check reports to be completed by parents prior to school arrival on our new parent portal app

  • Temperature is taken for all staff and students each day (Anyone with a temperature over 100.4 will be sent home and will not be allowed to return to school without a doctor's note)

  • Class cohorts do not mix with other classes either inside or on the playground

  • Class cohorts are limited to 12 people including teachers

  • Staff will remain with the same group of children whenever possible

  • Masks will be worn by staff when they are in close proximity to other staff, adults or children (drop off, diaper changing, etc).

  • Parents dropping off and picking up must wear masks. As per VA law, masks are not required in the classroom or playground by children or staff in a childcare setting, but will be encouraged when possible. Children over 2 can wear masks if they can remove them independently. Masks may not be worn during nap time.

  • Increased hand washing

  • New carpool system

  • Disinfecting and sanitizing spaces and equipment based on CDC guidelines.

  • Preschool will not be offering snacks. All lunches and snacks will be provided by families.

  • We follow all State guidelines and mandates regarding closure. Decisions to remain open or closed are based on protecting the health and well-being of the children, families and staff.  We will consult with the local health authority and our state licensing inspector if we have any positive Covid cases among our preschool families or staff to determine if we need to close, for how long, and when individuals who were exposed or tested positive can return to the program.
